I am a moron.

Today I left my phone on the roof of my car, and then drove off. Unbeliveable.

I have no idea where it is now, and it brings tears to my eyes to think of it out there all alone out there in the big bad world, cold and frightened.

Also, I had 500 numbers in the thing. Hmmph...

I know how you feel...

4 years ago, after I had just started a job in Toronto, Canada, I had saved up for ages and bought this beautiful phone... it was truly amazing.. I did the same thing... put it on the roof of the car and drove off... but I rememberd it was on the roof and turned round just in time to see it sailing past the back window and under the wheel of a truck behind me.... that was a bad day, just as today is probably a bad day for you too!

You can buy a new sim card from your provider and ask them to re-assign the number to you... in Canada it's called a Push request, but i dont know what they call it here...

Comiserations!

Yeah, I am feeling like a real idiot at tne moment. Fortunately, the phone was pretty old so the financial impact is pretty minimal.

The periodic loss of all of one's phone numbers is sort of a cleansing experience. THis was the phone I had when I was working, and in my new role as a mom and wife (which still sounds weird) I really should just let a lot of those contacts die. It's not healthy to think I could pick up the phone and go back to work. Just scanning the contacts section was an act of masochistic self flaggelation.

Sythe, I should have the same number restored by saturday! Apparently there are a lot of people who lose thier phones in the same way, so no problem. Thank god.

Thanks for the sympathy!

Glad to see you looking on the bright side Suburban - you must be a huge optimist.

Is there any way to actually transfer and store numbers on a computer? Or do I need some super-expensive phone for that? I'd be devastated if I lost my list of contacts!
